Day 4 of Scotland 2018

The last full day of the tour began with a lazy breakfast. The boys and staff chilled over pain au chocolate and juice as we mentally prepared for the day ahead. We headed off back to Murrayfield where we had an excellent tour led by a superb tour guide called Alex. The boys went all over the stadium and even charged onto the pitch. We were joined in the changing rooms by Cheltenham resident and Scotland U20 Coach, Carl Hogg, who wished us best for our matches later on.

After lunch it was off to our final fixtures at Portobello Rugby Club and what a welcome we received. Their coaches, parents and children were warm, welcoming and it was a real delight to visit their club. Although we won both matches, the scorelines don't reflect the physicality of the games and they were a tough oppo. They were also superb in the clubhouse after the matches, organising a water drinking boat race and a biscuit eating one too. Great fun and some firm friends made, we will definitely be back.

After the match we went out for a final tour dinner in a local restaurant, where tired and sore bodies relaxed and refuelled before heading back to the hotel for showers and bag packing. We head back to Cheltenham tomorrow morning knowing this tour was a great success both in terms of the sport and the experience. The boys have been great ambassadors for the school and are a real credit to the badge.
